Psychology for first responders

FIRST RESPONDERS

On average, first responders are exposed to at least 600 times the amount of trauma compared to people not working in this industry. Paramedics, firefighters, police officers, emergency dispatchers, military, and other health care workers are susceptible to a wide range of medical and mental health issues. While prevention is the optimal approach, you can receive effective treatment at any stage of your career.

CRITICAL INCIDENT SUPPORT

Timely support is a key aspect of proactive prevention of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions. If you have experienced a traumatic event on the job and require more support than your regular debrief protocols, contact Tonia for a critical incident support session either in person, virtual, or over the phone.

Booking appointments that work with your schedule: As shift work and EMS schedules vary, if you cannot find a time in the booking calendar that works with your schedule, contact Tonia directly at tonia@toniaandersonpsychology.ca or (587) 224-4071 with your availability in order to arrange a time that works for you and your individual needs.
